We need some help identifying this filming location. This 1970's hotdog stand was used in this episode. Few clues could be found since the filming was a pretty tight shot of location. Does anybody recall where this restaurant was or currently still is?
UPDATE: Our viewers are great.... This hot dog stand was located at the corner of Alameda Ave and San Fernando Blvd - Burbank California
It is currently El Tapatio Restaurant 926 South San Fernando Blvd.

Castaways -- Not only does it still exist, you can host a wedding there. We got married there...Castaways restaurant was also used in one of the 2 hour 90's Rockford movies.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that Bill....
ReplyDeleteB.T.W. do you know which one of the Rockford Files TV movies also used Castaways as a filming location?
Thanks
207 E Alameda AVE Burbank, CA looks like the food stop is in that area.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I don't specifically remember which 2 hr TRF movie had The Castaway Restaurant. But it was there in one of 'em!
ReplyDeleteI was friends with the family that owned the hot dog stand pictured above. It was called "The Red Baron" located at 926 San Fernando Road in Burbank. In fact, you can see the Red Baron riding a hot dog in the painted mural on the wall with James Garner next to it. My friends owned it from 1975-1976, just a couple of years, then sold it. It was a true "sweat shop" and cramped inside. Good to see photos of it again.
